16/17 Week Update

My very first ultrasound is in 2 weeks, on October 1.  Unfortunately my husband is still away for work and will not be there with me, but I am still very excited!  At first we did not want to find out the sex of the baby, but lately the more I think about it, we both DO want to find out the sex of the baby.  They say that the mother usually has a gut feeling of what she is having, but me... not a clue.  The only thing I am feeling is that it is TWINS!  That is my gut feeling.  I am very excited to find out the gender of our baby.  Right now, I am have been calling the baby "he" when I talk about it.  But I don't know if that's because I think it's a boy or because part of me is wanting a girl but I don't want to jinx it.  We will find out October 1st!

I am finally having more energy these day and I love it.  I bought some prenatal yoga dvds online and I finally had energy to try them out.  Man am I out of shape! lol.  I couldn't even finish half the workout.  I was tired right away.  I usually work out often, I am always in sports but I have been so... lazy the last few months.  But the stretches in the yoga killed me! I was so sore the next day after the workout.

OMG! so I wanted to blog about how I think I am finally feeling the baby move inside of me (first time last night at bed time) I forgot until now, when I felt it again as I am typing! Holy Cow it is so neat!  This is my first pregnancy so I could be wrong.  But this is what it feels like... little bubble popping.  I just ate a piece of chocolate (Toblerone bar) about 15 mins ago.  I am taking that as a sign that the baby likes chocolate so I should eat more! lol.  Is 16/17 weeks too early to feel that? Am I going crazy?

Weight Gain:   So far as of today, my total weight gain is 4 pounds!! I am so happy that the scale is going up finally.  In the morning, I dont look pregnant at all, but at the end of the day I sure do.  I am only comfortable in my maternity pants or my size up pants from a few years ago before I lost weight.

Symptoms:  Hiccups all the time!  Puke free for 1.5 weeks! YAY!

I am currently using BioOil every night on my belly which seems to helps with the itchiness.  Another thing I noticed recently is pain in my belly.  I usually sit on my couch sideways and have the laptop on the spot beside me and I hunch over and to type and what not, but now i get a pain in my side belly area.  Kind of a pulling feeling, not too sure what it is.

I am very happy that I am now enjoying my pregnancy.  I just wish that my husband/best friend was here to enjoy it with me and share my cravings, because we both know he would love that lol.  :)

Diclectin

We had our first midwife appointment last week, and it went awesome!  I love having a midwife, she took her time and explained everything.  She also gave me a prescription for Diclectin, which is for morning sickness and nausea for pregnant women.  I took the first pill Saturday afternoon, then another 2 before bed and I slept great that night.  I even slept in until 10am, then I woke up made french toast then went back to bed.  I slept most of the day and the next.  I have no got sick at all since last week! I am finally keeping all my meals down and gaining weight.  Diclectin works great, only bad thing is that it makes me very sleepy.

Also, I can finally eat salad again.  That makes me happy because I was worried that i was going to be eating unhealthy for 9 months.

My first ultrasound is booked for October 1, and at that time I will be around 18 weeks.  I wonder if they can tell if we are having a boy or girl at that time.  At least I will know if there is one or two growing inside me at that time.  We also have a 3D ultrasound booked out of town for November 24, which is when my husband will be back home.  He left for work last Sunday and is due back home around the first week of November.

I have become less stressed out about the pregnancy since I can find the baby's heartrate every other day now.  I love having a home doppler, best investment so far.

2 more weeks until I can see our baby for the first time!!

Midwife!! 15 weeks

Today I got a call from a midwife that I have been on a waiting list for over 2 months! A spot opened up and I now have a midwife. :) I am so happy And relieved to have a midwife now. I have an appointment with her next thursday.

Okay, so I am now 15 weeks and the morning sickness seems to have gone down a little. I still get nauseous some mornings and after dinner. Dinner is still a challenge I can't eat much. I have not been working out or even walking at all in the last few weeks. I did order a few prenatal yoga DVD on line today. I also have a hard time sleeping at night this week.

Also today we announced our pregnancy on Facebook. We added the picture below (or above I'm on my cell and not sure where the pic goes).

Heartrate @ 13ish weeks

Well it has been 3 weeks since my last post, and not much has changed.  Still feel nauseous most days.  The worst is between lunch and bedtime.  Still not eating healthy.  I eat a lot of little fruit juice gummies after every meal pretty much.  Oh and we went on vacation to my parents house last week and my dad loves to cook.  I started to get an appetite back and was sure I gained about 5 pounds in that week.  I am used to weighing myself every morning same time, and last week i had no scale.  So when i returned home I weighed myself and gained nothing.  Not sure if it is because I am going to the bathroom (#2 sorry TMI) a few times a day now or not but I feel like I should be gaining or showing by now.  I am still very tired all the time.

On another note, I bought a fetal doppler a few months ago (can't remember if I posted about it already).  I have been able to hear the heartrate but could never get a number on the screen.  Well today DH and I finally saw the number on the doppler a few times, the heartrate was so fast and I LOVED hearing it.  Today, at 13ish weeks the rate was 163 bpm.

Another 4 weeks until my next appointment and hopefully we will schedule an ultrasound then.  I am getting very impatient.   I know I am forgetting stuff, but I am ready for bed.

10 weeks

This is just a quick update. I have not been feeling well at all the last few weeks. Eating is the biggest challenge so far. Well keeping it settled is the challenging part. No cravings but a lot of food really turn me off now. I have to eat very small meals that is the trick for me. My meals are pretty much peanut butter English muffin for breakfast and cherios for a snack. PB&J sandwich for lunch and some crackers in the afternoon snack. Supper is cheese and crackers or mashed potatoes mixed with sweet potatoes. I stick with the same foods pretty much thinking maybe my body will get used to them and stop throwing it up.
I had my first parental this week all that happened was a pap test. That was it.
My weight went down since my last appointment down 2 pounds.

Still no heart rate or ultrasound and my next appointment is not until September 17. I am really stressing out about this pregnancy with my appointments being so far apart.

Well that's all for now I am so tired and ready for bed

Oh and my husband is coming home this weekend and I am so excited to see him.

6 Weeks 2 Days Update

Today is 6 weeks 2 days based on ovulation date.  This week so far has been... alright.  Have not got sick yet this week (YAY!).  I have been very tired, but have been having a hard time sleeping at night.  That makes for a long day at work on a few hours of sleep.  So far the biggest struggle I am having is drinking enough water in the day.  I know that I need to drink at least 6-8 glasses a day to stay hydrated but it is difficult.  During the day at work I can drink 2 full bottes of water (500 mL each).  Drinking that much has me going to the washroom every 30 mins, and it is getting annoying!  I drink another 2 big glasses at home after work and that is all I can do.  Hiccups is another thing I have most of the day, and sometimes it leads me to almost puking, but I can stop it.

That is all I can remember, my brain is only half there lately.  I am off to bed now.  Maybe when I wake up tomorrow, it will be end of July :)

Pass the salt please

I had a good day today.  Felt great all day, and not once did I feel sick.  I think I finally figured out the right foods to eat.  Since middle last week, I have been having Mr. Noodles for lunch almost everyday because it makes me feel full and I can keep it down so I am stinking with the same food.  As well, as soon as I get up I have to get up out of bed and eat breakfast right away.  Breakfast has been 12 grain bagel with cream cheese.  Another thing that I have been eating quite a few of is pickles.  I don't know if it's a craving or just that it seems to be the only thing that doesn't leave a gross taste in my mouth after eating it.

So with the 4-6 pickles a day plus the Mr. Noodles, I realized there is a heck of a lot of sodium in my daily meals which for me means bloating and weight gain.  I have slowly put on weight (around 8-10 pounds) since the winter and I have always sucked in my stomach.  I do that everyday all day when I am out of my house.  Now, it kinds hurts when I suck in my stomach all day.  I am feeling cramps when I do that.  It is way too early to have a baby bump, but thats what this extra weight is looking like if I don't suck it in.

So my goal for the next week is to try out some different foods that contain less sodium and look for some good workout DVDs.  I am trying to find a good yoga one.

As for pregnancy symptoms, I have been feeling a lot better when it comes to the morning sickness.  As long as I make sure that I eat something every hour and a half at least.  Another thing is my back.  I find myself rubbing my lower back throughout the day while I'm at work.  Well thats pretty much it for this week.  Time is going by way too slow.
