HCG test strip?

So when I took my hpt strip this morning, I put the opk strip next to it to see where the line should be.  There was no line that I could see, but then I put the tests on there sides just to see if I could see something and I noticed that there was a pink spot on the side of the test strip where the the should be.  Im pretty sure its negative because I couldn't see a line on the top of the test but could it be that the line is so faint??? I have been googling it like crazy, and cant find an answer anywhere.  If anyone is reading this has ever read or seen this, please let me know I am going crazy.
